Community Guidelines

Rules for publishing charts to the Rex community · Last updated: August 29, 2026

Rex lets you publish interactive charts that other learners — many of them students — can discover, use, and remix. These guidelines keep that shared space safe and useful. They apply to everything you publish. By publishing a chart you agree to follow them, and to our Terms of Service.

You're responsible for what you publish

When you publish a chart, you are solely responsible for its content, including its accuracy and its appropriateness for a general, student-heavy audience. Only publish content you own or have the right to share. Don't publish anyone else's copyrighted material without permission.

What belongs here

Educational content: quizzes, drills, simulations, diagrams, and study sets.
Original work, or work you have permission to share and adapt.
Charts that are accurate, clearly presented, and safe for all ages.

What is not allowed

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content. Do not publish charts that contain or promote:

Harassment, bullying, threats, or targeting of any individual or group.
Hate speech or content that demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Sexual or pornographic content, or any sexual content involving minors.
Graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies violence or self-harm.
Dangerous instructions — weapons, explosives, illegal drugs, or other content that could cause real-world harm.
Illegal activity, or facilitation of it.
Intellectual-property infringement — copyrighted or trademarked material you don't have rights to.
Impersonation of another person, brand, or organization.
Spam, scams, phishing, malware, or misleading content.
Private or personal information about others without their consent.
Deliberately false or deceptive educational content.

A chart is code, not a picture

A published chart is a small interactive program that runs on other people's devices. Charts run sandboxed, with no access to a viewer's account, files, or the rest of their board, and we keep them that way on purpose. Publishing one carries rules beyond the content itself:

Do not attempt to escape the sandbox, reach outside the chart, or read anything about the person viewing it.
Do not collect information from viewers, whether by form, prompt, or anything that phones home. A chart is a lesson, not a data-collection tool.
Do not embed trackers, analytics, or advertising.
Do not use a chart to funnel students somewhere else — no ads, no affiliate links, no promotion of a product or service.
Do not deliberately consume a viewer's battery, memory, or network, or otherwise degrade their device.

Charts that attempt any of this are removed and the account behind them loses publishing privileges. Attempts to breach the sandbox are treated as an attack on our users, not a rule infraction, and are handled accordingly.

Shared boards

These guidelines cover what you publish to everyone. A board you share with a specific person is private, but it is still not a place for anything unlawful, for harassing a collaborator, or for material a person on that board did not consent to see. If someone shares a board with you and uses it to harass you, remove your access to it and report the account to rexstudyapp@gmail.com. Invite links are keys: do not pass one on to somebody the board's owner did not intend to include.

Reporting & blocking

Every published chart can be reported from inside the app — open the chart's menu and choose Report. You can also block a creator so you no longer see their charts. Reports go straight to our moderation queue.

If your report is specifically a copyright claim, use the formal process in our Copyright & DMCA Policy instead — a DMCA notice has legal requirements an in-app report does not capture.

A report alone does not automatically remove a chart. Where we determine there is probable cause to believe a reported chart violates these guidelines, it is hidden from the community store while under review. All reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Moderation & enforcement

We may review, hide, or remove any chart at our discretion, with or without notice. Consequences for violations scale with severity and history, and may include:

Removal of the offending chart.
Loss of publishing privileges for repeat offenders.
Suspension or termination of your account for serious or repeated violations.

Appeals

If you believe your chart was removed in error, email rexstudyapp@gmail.com with the chart title and details. We'll review your appeal and respond. We aim to be fair, but decisions about what stays on the community store are ultimately ours.

These guidelines work together with our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Where they overlap, the Terms of Service control. We may update these guidelines from time to time; material changes will be noted in-app or by email.
